MySpace is Dead? (2): Rich's Rebuttal

At least this graph is more credible than the last one Rich sent me:

Yes, obviously Facebook is winning the race, but this actually shows that for the most part traffic has stayed steady on MySpace over the last year. Mere fluctuations. For MySpace to die they'd have to experience a little more dramatic drop in its 60 million (!!!) monthly visitors.

Besides, of course Facebook is leaving MySpace in the dust. Everyone and their grandma has started joining. Seriously, someone's grandma added me the other day!
Love you Rich.

Really, I almost cried the day by dad added me as a friend on Facebook:)

Though this is a valid argument these sites are used differently. I think Facebook is more for communicating/keeping in touch with friends and family, while MySpace allows fans to communicate directly with artists (or whomever runs their profiles). MySpace=Music...Facebook=everything else.

I wish they would both die, plain and simple.

I agree with Marksist. In addition, MySpace profiles act like bulletin boards.

Its interesting, I've never taken MySpace seriously. I was making records and going pretty hard before MySpace got big. By the time it got big I took a break from recording. A few years passed and I started recording again but Facebook had replaced MySpace as the next new thing so Ive never really had a MySpace account. Funny...
