So after you're done fulfilling your family responsibilities this Turkey Day I'm sure it would be nice to escape. Here's a couple of shows for the weekend. Unfortunately their times coincide, but no matter which one you go to I assure you it will help you forget the hours you spent humoring your drunk aunt this holiday.
The first:
City on the Make and Abzorbr
Hexagon Bar 9pm, free
Nov. 23, Friday
Minneapolis rockers, City on the Make, always put on a real live show w/ their fusion of rock, blues, funk, and whatever you can find. Along w/ the local and very experimental hip hop band, Abzorbr, whom will be going on tour w/ Eyedea and Abilities, this is a low profile show to catch.
The second:
Buck 65
7th Street Entry 8pm, $10/$12
Nov. 23rd
Let me just say that I love Buck 65. Any typical hip hopper doesn't quite warm up to his mellow delivery, guitar and banjo-laden beats, and songs about the small town way of life, but I think he's a genius. W/ a new album's (Situation) worth of material it should be a good ole time.
